I loved creating this video for an awesome family. They are looking to adopt and wanted to make a video to show the birth mothers. My goal was to capture this family in their truest form: full of love, laughter, and fun.
Such a sweet family. I loved getting to start this session by them waking up their sleepy boy. So fun to capture all of those morning snuggles (I think he was kind of bombarded with the paparazzi in his room! aka, me.) It's interesting how family routines change as kids get older, or in this case, more littles get added to the mix. This session was over a year ago and now there is a beautiful little girl who is part of this family.
I'm sure their mornings look different now with high chairs and cheerios, but they will always remember their special times as a family of 3.
My first real film.
Can I tell you that seeing your people in motion is priceless? I didn't know that this would be the last footage of my dad before I lost him to a heart attack a few months later. I will treasure this forever. Sometimes it's just good to see your loved ones in more than a still image. The way their face moves as they laugh, or the way they twirl nunchucks. I'll say it again...priceless.
So here it is.
What do your evenings look like? Just a typical night.
For this family, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary or extravagant planned. But these are the simple things that they will cherish.
Like the kids helping make dinner. Or the trampoline tricks and sibling races in the backyard. Or watching The Amazing Race together as a family and cheering on their favorites. Or bedtime routines of reading the Word and quiet snuggles.
This is the good stuff.
This was my FIRST in home session EVAH. And I didn't really know what I was doing (sorry guys) but nonetheless, this baby girl made it all turn out beautifully. I hope you guys look back on these and smile at those tiny fingers and tiny toes and all those smiles.
She's adorable even when she cries!
Such a precious family! They are fun, full of joy, and know how to have a good time and be silly. I've photographed them in a more laid back, in home session, but it's always fun to get your "fancy clothes" on and let the buttery light do it's work!
And the photographer too, I mean. ;)
Gina found me after I had moved back to Texas, but I happened to be traveling to Colorado to photograph a wedding in the next month. I'm so glad I was able to photograph their family! It was a cold night in Denver, so we kept it short and sweet! Lots of cuddling and squeezing close to stay warm, and lots of love for their precious pup Max.
Max was so calm, and the family was so loving and tender towards him. He passed not long after our session, and I'm very thankful to have been able to capture some sweet moments of them together.
I love those evenings where the weather is crisp and just calls for a campfire! Doesn't happen too often in Texas summers with all of the humidity, but when s'mores are involved, you just make it work. This was such a fun session capturing these friends having an evening at home. I hope these images will be something they treasure and can look back on when these two beauties are in high school, remembering the moments that were unique to this specific time in their lives.
The Bunch family was so much fun to work with! You can tell all of the cousins are really close, and that this family likes to have a good time. I'd be photographing one group, only to turn around and see another group having fun and goofing off. I loved it! ( I just needed about 3 of me to be able to capture all of the great in between moments!)
Such a beautiful family, and my first at a new location. I just loved the way they turned out. Here are a few from the session.
I loved taking this family's photos because their boys reminded me of my own. Close in age just like my two, it was fun to speculate how similar my boys would be as they get older. They were silly and fun and I loved watching their family dynamic.
