Sassenhagen Family Session: Trophy Club

Such a precious family!  They are fun, full of joy, and know how to have a good time and be silly.  I've photographed them in a more laid back, in home session, but it's always fun to get your "fancy clothes" on and let the buttery light do it's work!

And the photographer too, I mean. ;)

Man's Best Friend

Gina found me after I had moved back to Texas, but I happened to be traveling to Colorado to photograph a wedding in the next month.  I'm so glad I was able to photograph their family!  It was a cold night in Denver, so we kept it short and sweet!  Lots of cuddling and squeezing close to stay warm, and lots of love for their precious pup Max.

Max was so calm, and the family was so loving and tender towards him.  He passed not long after our session, and I'm very thankful to have been able to capture some sweet moments of them together.

Extended Family Session in Trophy Club

The Bunch family was so much fun to work with!  You can tell all of the cousins are really close, and that this family likes to have a good time.  I'd be photographing one group, only to turn around and see another group having fun and goofing off.  I loved it!  ( I just needed about 3 of me to be able to capture all of the great in between moments!)

Such a beautiful family, and my first at a new location.  I just loved the way they turned out.  Here are a few from the session.

The Bertel Family

I loved taking this family's photos because their boys reminded me of my own.  Close in age just like my two, it was fun to speculate how similar my boys would be as they get older.  They were silly and fun and I loved watching their family dynamic.

Cherry Creek State Park Family Session

This family is near and dear to my heart.  We got this session in right as we were in the middle of a move back to Texas, and they were waiting on the word to move to Hawaii.

I love family sessions because I love capturing connections.  Then you throw in some gorgeous light and beautiful scenery and it's just plain magic.

Downtown Denver Engagement

I love my job.

One of the reasons, besides the actual taking of the pictures, is meeting new people.  Matt and Amanda were such a fun couple to work with and we had a blast at their engagement session!

It started with a proposal...then a few celebratory drinks...then exploring downtown Denver finding the best photo spots.  Union Station was the perfect backdrop for their images, especially when coupled with Amanda's smokin hot dress!

I can't WAIT for your wedding this September!!  Thanks for being so much fun...and super photogenic. ;)

Outfit change!!  I love that the valet guy was willing to go run to their car to get the tutu!  Hopefully he didn't feel too strange running around Union Station carrying a quick change of attire.

And we wrapped up the evening with some epic shots at Larimer Square.  It was pretty crowded and every time we ran out in the middle of the road for the photos, everyone cheered.  It was worth it.

Mother Daughter Session | Fort Worth Family Photographer

Mother Daughter Session | Fort Worth Family Photographer

That magical, golden hour.

I love shooting during the last hour before sunset.  The light is stunning and can transform the most boring setting into something magical.  This particular park had some great features:  a tree-lined dirt road, tall grass, and big trees to let the sunlight filter through.

If you love this look, definitely schedule an evening session!  The soft light is also really flattering for skin tones and doesn't give the subject harsh shadows.

The mother/daughter connection.

I'm a family photographer because I love capturing connections between people.  I want someone to look at a photo and feel the love between family members, and in this case, a mother and daughter.

Such a special bond, now preserved in print.
